SDL Music Album of the Month : BACK TO THE WELL - Midge Marsden

This month we revisit another of Midge Marsden’s albums, Back to the Well. Released in 2014, Midge describes this album as his most eclectic to date.

A thoughtfully constructed collection of loved blues favourites, married with Midge’s own songs and collaborations with friends and colleagues. Back to the Well, perhaps more than Midge’s other albums is a wonderful insight into Midge’s career and influences.

Tiger Town, written by Midge is a homage to his experience growing up in Moturoa, New Plymouth. Its proximity to the port exposed the young Midge to new albums brought by the visiting sailors that would make an indelible mark on his musical influences. In the tradition of great story telling of New Zealand history through song, Tiger Town takes us back to another time where the milk bar and a good jukebox where everything.

Midge has prepared a clip for us with a bit more information about the album. Have a watch, then follow the link to listen to Back To The Well  another great Midge Marsden album.
