ongoing Release: Sam Ford and Trudi Green

OOOEE! Was recorded during the last Auckland lockdown, with each member of the band recording their own parts at home and sending them in to Soulahula Central, where they were compiled and edited by Sam - result: OOOEE!

Album Review

“The global nature of modern Blues takes and antipodeans slant with a new album “OOOEE” by New Zealand duo Sam Ford and Trudi Green with the Soulahula Band, following on from their 2019 set, Sweet, Sweet Love.

“The album is a triumph of technology, recorded as it was during the last Auckland lockdown, and with seamless welding together of the component parts. ‘Ain't No Easy Way’ and ‘I Can't Trust You Anymore’ could easily be the product of Muscle Shoals or Union Street, prime examples of the blues-soul style, while ‘I'm Free’ is a reflective story lilter driven by flowing keyboard.  ‘It's Not My Turn’ and ‘I'm Not The Man’ add a funky backbeat to a new perspective on the term ‘southern’ soul!”
